The Factions Of Lucidea
In the new Lucidea, the few locations that still hold societies are intensely divided; factions ruling over every aspect of modern day society. The tension between these factions are high, and for most; war seems almost inevitable.
The Kingdom / Royal Militia
The Royal Militia have grown to become much more of a powerhouse than what they were when the Green Death first spread. Occupying and protecting what's left of the Lucidean province, they concentrate the heaviest in the Royal city, but are found in every town and populated area in between. Although the major leaders aside from the Royal family line are military that protested the mutiny, over 90% of the overall force is now comprised of former peasants and regular working men and women of the realm.
Trained properly by the Royals and their loyal protectors, and hardened by the horrible combat against the evolutionary beasts, they are no longer the shambled and disorganized mess they were during the first conflict with the Military. They are smaller in number than the military, and still lack the average combat experience, but they work together with a more competent sense of synergy; their will to protect their home and common goals unite them all as a people, and prevent as much backlash as the Militarist debates. Because of their lack of walls around the coast, and their need to fish as a form of sustenance, The Royal Militia excels in water craft based combat.
The Militia has it's fair share of corrupt politicians and condescending upper elites, as any royal family would have, but it's figurehead, the king, is known widely as as a firm believer in equality, and a just ruler. But what of his family? How long can a man stay in power if all those around him disagree with his methods?

The Military / Mutant Bane Fortress
Despite the fact that over 60% of the Military force is made up of Dominance based users, all types of energy-wielders converge to make this faction the strongest in brute strength in all of Lucidea. Governed by a small council of elites with different skills and motives, the Military prides itself on its main goal of protecting those who wish to contribute to rebuilding society, and leaving those who wish to be a burden to their fate. This is what happened during the original spread of the Green Death, as they renounced their Loyalty to a king who “couldn’t properly protect his citizens and would allow something so horrible to go uncontained”, branching off from the Lucidean province.
Kreig Lachdanun, considered the strongest person in all of Lucidea, used his own unique, family bred line of abilities, known as Constructmancy, to start forging a massive fortress off the coast of the province, fit to protect those he deemed worthy. His family (the only people capable of constructmancy) in turn would help him, and the fortress would become the gigantic landmass that it is today, working as it’s own country, due to its almost dictator styled governing and sheer size. Although the council exists, Lachdanun is still considered the formal leader, and often gets his way in most situations.
Using a portal system, and some (although not many) military ships to reach the wasteland, they conduct various expeditions to attempt to understand and hopefully one day completely remove the threat of the evolutionary beasts. They capture the ones they can keep alive, as well as some of the humans that practice evolutionary wielding, doing various tests and experiments to apparently learn how to stop the evolution completely. These methods, in combination to the harsh laws and rulings of most of the Military officials, has left much controversy in the ranks and citizens that live in the fortress. This can often lead to the military powers being disorganized, and the idea of a civil war between opposing leaders has often been whispered in the shadows. Unlike the cold wars and behind the scenes combative natures of the Royal Military, power struggles are often settled in arenas, and in most cases, to be promoted up the ranks means to kill your superior.

The Magi of The Astral Isles
Who the Magi of the Astral Isles are is still a pretty well kept secret to this day. Their separation from the Military and Royal family was a shock that nobody expected; from what little the other factions could gather, it seemed that most of the upper echelon of magic users that resided in Lucidea formed their own “cult” of sorts as things started to go sour. They are extremely small in number, passing just over around a thousand, but when they all up and left their comrades behind in a time of struggle, it was a big enough change to severely hurt mankind in their fight against the beasts.
Creating barriers around a small section of the original royal city that the mages populated, they used their combined magic to put an enchantment on the entire area, causing it to rip from the ground and float into the sky, remaining stationary up there to this date. They have allegedly created their own artificial agriculture as a means to survive, and spend most of their time up in their “astral isles”.
Very rarely do any of the mages ever descend to the rest of the world, likely because they are considered enemies of both major factions, however, messengers at times have been sent on the promise of peace to negotiate. All that anyone has learned about the faction is that they saw fit to distance themselves from the squabbles of others that they predicted would happen, and are contributing in their own way to stopping the evolutionary beasts. Rumors have been spread that they from time to time recruit powerful mages of the other factions, but it is all simply deduction and speculation, without any proof. The mages work in very mysterious ways.

The Evolutionary Tribes
The chaos of the Green Death spread through Lucidea like wildfire, killing hundreds of thousands before blinks, and ripping towns and cities apart like knives through butter. Because of this, it was very hard for everyone to collect themselves into a major group of fighting forces; and despite the actions of the Military and Royal family, a lot of people were left behind when the barriers were made. Most of these unfortunate souls were killed, but a few of the most resilient and tough souls the land produced endured on, living, and eventually adapting to their new cruel environment.
These people grouped themselves into tribes, ranging anywhere from tiny groups to large warbands, using the protection of each other to live and sustain life in such a inhospitable place. These tribes learned the way of evolutionary energy, becoming one with the creatures, and even befriending them in certain cases. Because of this, they are shunned by the other factions, seen as monsters themselves, while the tribes hate the others for leaving them behind and turning them into what they are today.
A lot of the smaller groups have joined together, leaving only a handful of powerful tribes that live in the wastelands. Although some do not actively despise other humans, and are simply together to survive, most have degraded into near insanity due to the evolutionary corruption, hunting and killing anyone foolish enough to leave their protected homes for sport. As the tribes get larger and larger, they become a more pressing concern for the other factions; how long until they try to take from them? When their bloodlust reaches a point of insatiable heights, who will they attack first?

The Tao-Fei Monks
The Tao-Fei Monks live in a location otherwise isolated from the rest of the world. The Order's main monastery lays in the outskirts of the Lucidean Province, the land within the borders differing almost entirely from the wastelands around them. The area is lush and full of life, this is thanks to the Nature bound spirits that protect this otherwise sacred land. The monk convene with these spirits through an art known simply Ahn-Dekah or more commonly known Spiritualism, The art of not only speaking to the spirits but to borrow power from them in times of need. These spirits even had a hand in pacifying the invading plague of beasts who would've otherwise wiped out the order, these beasts now serve as loyal guardians and are held in high regard not just by the monks but by the spirits themselves. Why the spirits are so fond of creatures who only a short time ago threatened to destroy their very land they walk on, a closely guarded secret that they will not even divulge to the monks themselves.
