Player Stats and Equipment
Player Stats
Each character has a set amount of stats that dictate their ability and performance in certian fields of the role play. Some stats will be more important to others depending on class, but every stat has a specific function; which will be explained below.
Aside from the specific function, each class has a DAMAGE STAT, as well as CENTRAL STATS.
The damage stat is the main stat that calculates damage for a character, and most of your attack abilities will have this stat as a set requirement.
MAGICAL CLASSES AND CREATIONISTS USE INTELLIGENCE
SPIRITUAL CLASSES AND SHIFTERS USE WILLPOWER
DOMINANCE CLASSES AND DE-CONSTRUCTORS USE STRENGTH
SHADE CLASSES AND TAMERS USE DEXTERITY
The Central stats are stats that will often be used as requirements for abilities. These will be noted underneath the class description, as they vary even in specific branches.
Strength: How strong you are. Generally used in tests of pure physical strength against enemies or other challenges in the world.
Dexterity: Dexterity controls your accuracy/ hand eye coordination. A person with high dexterity will generally win in a complex duel with another person of lower dexterity. Mixing this stat with Agility can create some nimble footed ninas.
Charisma: How likeable you are, or how compelling of an argument you can make. This is often used with getting information, or convincing humans/beasts to work for you.
Intelligence: How smart you are. This works more so with your ability to retain information, and not so much with your understanding of it. A character with low intelligence will not be able to understand certain concepts as quickly as a character with higher intelligence, and in mind games/trickery, the higher intelligence usually wins.
Agility: Your speed. This effects how fast your character can move and react to the world around them, governing both reaction time and actual physical speed.
Willpower: Your drive or motivation to achieve a goal or power through hardship. This can come in very handy when dealing with large amounts of pain, or horrifying experiences.
Constitution: Your overall max health. This is calculated by 100 x Score . Ex: Constitution of 2 = 100 x 2 = 200HP
Soulpower: Your overall max energy. This is calculated by 50 x Score. Ex Soulpower of 2 = 50 x 2 = 100EP
Each stat starts at 1, but can be increased every time you level up. You are given 8 stat points per level up. Although it is possible to put a point into every stat every level, this is a very unwise thing to do. Find out the central stats for both your classes, and build your character depending on those. That being said, don't leave the other stats completely empty, they're still very usable in combat situations, just not as important. As far as using stats via monsters/other player characters go, if you don't want to dictate it completely by the book and just use them as a general base (as I want to do) that's fine. You don't have to escape someones grasp every time if your agility is a couple of points ahead of theirs. However, if you REALLY want to use stats as a by-the-book thing in roleplay, make sure your opponent is okay with this as well before engaging. (The only time stats will ALWAYS have to be specific numbers is when they're set as limits to purchase an ability or armour piece)
EQUIPMENT
Equipment won't be as in depth in this role play as in some RPG games, but it will still have a direct impact on how you preform during the combat scenarios it has to offer. Equipment can be gained in three ways; Purchasing it at the marketplace, creating it for yourself (using professions), or finding it as loot during your escapades in the world. Equipment can be classified into Armour and Weapons; and each contain different types to be used by different classes. This equipment will give you a buff to your stats while using it in the world, and the buff's increase depending on what level of equipment you're using. Certain equipment you can possibly create, or loot from the world may also have unique special effects as well.
This will be pretty basic, but it might get more in depth during the course of the roleplay.
(Note: as stated on the "Money" page, anything that you purchase must be pitched just like an ability, and can not be used until confirmation is given by a moderator. PM LUCIDEA TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT)
